Spend a summer day on Ärjänsaari Island, also known as a paradise island.
Ärjä's magnificent sandy beaches, beautiful high sandy slopes and pine-covered landscape surrounded by beautiful Lake Oulujärvi are unforgettable experiences. A summer day on Ärjänsaari-island is fast by hiking, looking for geocaches, running trails, swimming or just resting on the wonderful sandy beaches enjoying the sun.
Sometimes you can visit the sheep of Ärjänsaari, which are on summer work on the island between 9.6.-25.8.2025.
Ärjänsaari Island is part of the Rokua Geopark ridge formation, which extends from Lieksa to Hailuoto.
Kind dogs are welcome on our boat. One dog travels with its owner's ticket, for more we charge €5/dog.
The length of the boat trip is approx. 4km and lasts 5-15 minutes depending on weather conditions.
The summer cafe is open every day from 1 June to 24 August 2025 from 11 am to 4 pm. The café offers coffee, doughnuts, ice cream, soft drinks and sweets.
From the cafe, you can also rent playground equipment or, for example a bicycle, kayak, sup-board or rowing boat.
There is a well in Ärjänsaari where hikers can fill their drinking bottles.
The purity of the well water is examined annually.
